For the first time I will have a room mate..Do you have any tips/advice????

I bought a new home. For the first 6 months or year, I was considering renting out a room. I have never shared my space with someone else. I hear horror stories all the time. I dont want this to be a traumatic experience. I plan on getting something in writing, kind of like rules or regulations; things we both agreed on. And get it notarized. Im laid back and down to earth, but I dont want to get screwed over either. Any suggestions?????For the first time I will have a room mate..Do you have any tips/advice????
I think the fact that you own the house and are setting the rules is a good start and the fact that you are determining these things from the start will go a long way to having a mutually agreeable situation.

In my experience and from observing others the biggest problems come from a struggle for power (which won't be a struggle in your case-you own the house) and unspoken rules and expectations (which you are settling from the start)For the first time I will have a room mate..Do you have any tips/advice????
got any way not to have one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

coz there are some stuff that you cant write and sign on ! you DISCOVER after you live with them !!!!!!

only way is to have a person that had lived with some on you know so you would be sure there wont be any suppresses
definitely get a schedule of chores each will do and when they will be done. this was my biggest gripe with roommates and my children.
I GOT NOTHING...except the two points for even responding to your question...Thanks.
