IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) has both physical and psycho-social symptoms. It may be precipitated by an earlier episode of gastroenteritis (GI infection). To get it under control, consider a course of treatment with Xifaxan, a non-absorbable antibiotic that has been clinically shown to improve IBS symptoms.
Once under control, consider diet and lifestyle modifications to minimize the symptoms. You can find information about these at the links below, as well as by consulting with a gastroenterologist and registered dietitian.I have Ibs, is there any tips or advice to help this syndrome?
