HELP! 6th grade shots are getting closer I'm scared! What do I do??? Tips??? Advice?

I'm really really really scared!!!!! Help me please!HELP! 6th grade shots are getting closer I'm scared! What do I do??? Tips??? Advice?
Hey, I put your question on my watch list because my son is not too excited about the shots, either. Thanks for coming up with a great question - I never thought to ask it! I'm waiting to see what everybody has to say...

My advice? Remember the last time you fell on the sidewalk and skinned your knee? Or got a little sunburned? Or bumped your head hard on something? Well, getting shots hurts less and lasts for a shorter time than all of those things. Good luck!HELP! 6th grade shots are getting closer I'm scared! What do I do??? Tips??? Advice?
for one stop acting like a baby. If you want to eat some candy or close your eyes and squeeze your mommy's hand when they shoot you. Alright it really dosen't hurt it's just stings for like 1 second.
Seriously, I know all about this. Grade school, and high school shots!!! It isn't nothing, I was scared to death of shots at first and now I donate bood whenever I can. So be brave, it isnt bad. Just take a deep breath, and don't look at the needle!!
Take a ten deep breaths...take in as much air as possible and let it out slowly and then get really focused on the idea ofbeing an incredibly strong-willed person who doesn't take crap from anyone!

This should help, it has gotten people through much MUCH worse!
i guess you dont like needles. they really really do help you, they only hurt for a cople of seconds.... im me on yahoo messenger if u want to talk further my yahoo id is Lmkelly0408@sbcglobal.net -- just like that.
Don't look at the shot. Just turn away. Honestly you're just making a huge deal out of it. Everyone thinks it's going to be the end of the world, but it's over in 5 seconds or less! There are things that hurt a lot more than a shot. In my opinion a TB skin test hurts more! Just take deep breaths and look away and you'll do fine! GOOD LUCK!
No need to be scared.. shots are nobig deal.. u can look online for

some creams and shot blockers to Numb it

Pinch yourself somewhere else when they're putting the needle in, and don't look at the needle. It always works for me!
Do NOT look at the needle once it is in the doctor's or nurse's hand. Find something to look at like a picture in the office, outside the window, at a magazine over or anything else not located where you are getting the shot. You'll probably feel a little pinch and that's about it. Good luck and remember DON'T LOOK.
they're nothing to worry about!
Are you afraid of the needle? Just don't look when they give you the shot. Close your eyes and think of something else. It is best if you can relax and not tense your muscles when you get the shot. Just think of it this way. It only takes a few seconds to get the shot and then you are all done. Hope this helps.
Calm down. Just leave your arm limp and it will be over in 2 seconds.
Don't worry - it scared me when I was your age, too. Just explain to the nurses/doctor that you are a little nervous around needles, so could they please be a little bit gentle when giving you your shots. Count backwards from twenty slowly, if it helps. Pray for courage. P.S. You are probably suffering more from thinking about the shots than the shots themselves. :)
OK ... take a wide mouthed thermos bottle with you to school .... and have it filled with ice cubes. 3 or so minutes before you shots, and up to the time just before your shot, take out one ice cube and rub/hold it against the spot where you want them (or where they will) give you the shot. Trust me, you won't even feel it. Time to grow up :-)
Don't look at the nurse giving you the shot. Try to think of other things.
they scare the hell outa me 2 just close your eyes and grind your teeth and pretend your somewhere else
Getting a shot is never really a pleasant thing. But it is important that you get them. It keeps you healthy and free of disease.

the best advice to get through a shot without any trouble is to close your eyes, take a deep breath in, then breath out. Do not watch the doctor prepare the shot, or watch what they are doing. they will talk to you and it will take a quick second. Its not really that painful either, its just scary because something is going into our skin. But its just like those little thorns (i live in a desert) that you step on when you play outside, it hurts a little bit, but you just rub them off then keep going right?

Be strong, if your in 6th grade it will totally be easy.

Be strong,

Silence
just breathe its no big deal.

not really... and i hate getting shots so i know how you feel.

but really, its a couple of seconds... thats all. ^.^
