Don't forget that part of going through puberty is some weight fluctuation. Some kids get a lanky phase, some get a little chubby around 12-13(I know I did).

Just eat healthy, and keep moving. Don't fall into the temptation of sitting and watching TV.

As far as exercise, avoid weights as you're to young, and just dedicate some time to running/walking a mile or two everyday.

But really, more than anything, this is likely a stage your going through. When I was 13 I had a bigger waist than I do now, 20 years later. It was just a phase I went through.

Just don't fall into bad eating habits. =)

Google tummywatcher--it has a calorie calculator tool for various website exercises. Also you can find out what your ideal body weight is, based on your height, age, and gender.

The website also has five foods to fight hunger and other helpful tips as well as ab exercise videos you can follow and other helpful tips to achieve flat stomach.good luck.
To be honest I feel that you are a little young to begin a training regime but there are a few things that you could do to have a healthy lifestyle such as:

- Doing at least 30 minutes of exercise each day: This could include bike riding, swimming, running, playing soccer or any other sport. Doing anything that gets your heart pumping.

- Eat balanced meals: Try to have each meal include some type of protein (meat or fish), either fruit or vegetables and carbohydrates (whole grains).

Yes it is as simple as that, it's all about lifestyle choices. You said that your parents are overweight and it would be great to include them in your quest to get healthy. Good luck:)
the wii fit doesnt always tell the truth, if you really want to know if your over weight then ask a doctor

and i would say

run in the mornings with a friend

buy or rent a work out video

play a sport everyday with the neighborhood kids

get in a sport from the district

go on youtube and look it up

crunches

GOOD LUCK!!
i suggest toning exercises.. that wii fit.. im not sure how accruate it is.. work out your bmi on the nhs website or go to your doctors to find out accurately what your like and how you are.. toning exercises will just pump up your muscles,,... BUT your only 12! im 16 btw, but i dunno if youve started your period yet and gone through all ur hormones... if you have/havent then your body is still a childs if you see what i mean, so.. i wouldnt do anything serious, if your worried talk to your mum or some friends. but, as you get older, you do generally grow up and thin out.. people tend to call it 'loosing their puppy fat' because you havent grown up yet. dont change ur diet, thats taking it too far.

hope this has helped in some way.. But if your really serious, id only do light exercise... like walking to places, some sit ups.. things like that.. good luck =)) x

PS. PLEASE DONT TAKE ANY NOTICE OF PEOPLE SAYING ABOUT QUICK DIET AND EXERCISE TIPS OR PILLS... ITS JUST RIDICULOUS. YOUR 12, PEOPLE SHOULDNT BE GIVING OUT THAT ADVICE TO YOU. THINK SERIOUSLY. X
go jogging, and just be more active in general

But what you eat is key, eat healthier
u can go 2 a gym
