My husband and I are thinking of taking our vacation to Costa Rica. When is a good time of the year to go? I know their summer is from December to April, but I don't want to go when it is very full of tourists and during peak months it is very expensive. Also, does anyone have tips on good places to go or good travel lines to use? Thanks.Costa Rica tips/advice?
Personally when I have the chance, I like to go during Sept/Oct. It is right before the Holiday rush that starts a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Plus end of the raining season where prices are still reasonable before the tourist season gets into full swing.
As for a Travel Line, you might want to email Mark at http://www.fishcostarica.com/travel-pack/a> He's a small Travel guy with 15 years experience in putting together great travel packages, just email him and tell him want you want to do. Beach, ziplining, whitewater etc etc.
A few years ago I took my boys down and he set up a awesome travel packages. I did not want to hassle with putting together a recreation/tourism thing with the boys and trying to juggle my CR business at the same time.Costa Rica tips/advice?
I went with my school in late June, and the temp stayed around mid 70's (cooler at night). It was muggy, and did rain, but there were really nice days too. Go see the Arenal area, a nice lake and volcano in that area.
Also, there are a lot of cool waterfalls everywhere you can swim by and watch. One day we hiked up to poas volcano and looked right at its huge craters. We also zip glided 1,000's of feet in the air ( monteverdeextremo.com ).
There was a crocodile Safari when the tour guide/boat driver got out of the boat and actually fed a wild croc a dead chicken! ( junglecrocodilesafari.com ).
Baldi hot springs which was a series of hot pools (baldihotsprings.com)
There was so much to do there! It was great!!!
I try to plan my trips between March - June. It's off-seaon, so the crowds are low and it's just the beginning of green season, so it hardly rains. The best of both worlds.
