1. Write out a list of everything you love about smoking.
2. Write out a list of everything you think you will gain by quitting smoking.
3. take a look at your life and fine 2-3 places where you feel that it would not be an overwhelming change to not have a cigarette.
4. Identify the times and situations when you know you will definitely feel like smoking.
5. Start taking #3 out of your life and give yourself permission to smoke when #4 happens.
6. Focus on #2 and continue to remove cigarettes from your daily routine.
7. When you relapse take that opportunity to investigate what happened, what stressed you out and how you reacted to it. Relapsing is your opportunity to really see what motivates you to smoke and figure out how to deal with it. It is not a time to feel guilty and hate yourself.
Believe it or not smoking is something that gives you benefits, like getting to go outside for a ';smoke break';. You need to identify ways of replacing what you gain and enjoy about smoking with other rewarding, comfortable activities. I would recommend not rewarding yourself for not smoking with food otherwise you will have another problem to deal withon your hands.Im trying to stop smoking cigs any tips or advice on it?
Tell everyone what you're doing so if you do stop, you'll be letting people down.
Think of a day when you're going to stop and keep to it.
Have lots of things to keep your hands busy like pencils, etc. Sometimes people miss having stuff to do with their hands.
Remember it will get easier.
Often it is easier to cut down gradually rather than stop all together. Like have two less today, two less tomorrow, etc.Im trying to stop smoking cigs any tips or advice on it?
Cold turkey and chew lots of gum.
Lots of people say it's easier to just cut back and eventually quit, but as soon as you have a stressful you'll be smoking as much as you normally would again, trust me.
