Single soldier, combat arms, leaving to Mosul Iraq.Deploying in 2 weeks. Any tips/Advice?
Talk to the unit that you'll be replacing and see if they will leave you equipment/supplies or give you advice specific to the region.
My husband said Mosul is pretty nice, as Iraq goes.
Read up on Mosul in the news.
The Chow Hall is fine, the BX is pretty limited. Get someone to send you stuff that you want/need. (If your family and friends are flaky, ask a local church to send you stuff ... you might score some awesome cookies and stuff!)
Ask now about internet and phone connectivity so you can give your family a head's up... about when to expect to hear from you.
Take extra socks.
