Im Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?

hopefully i can get a band scholarshipIm Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?
Start by calling your high school and making an appointment with your school counselor. Tell your counselor you have no idea how to start this process.

If your school does not have a counselor for you or you can't get in to see them, then I feel bad for you and all the students at your school.

If you need help with understanding the college selection process, feel free to check out my online classes on the subject. You can go to globalscholar.com and type in my name ';Kerrie'; in the search box.Im Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?
Make sure you have your SAT or ACT scores in and if not do that as soon as possible. You can start looking at scholarships in the spring I believe, your parents will need to fill out the FAFSA and the sooner the better but they will need to wait until after the new year to do that when they get W-2s in and what not. You can also apply early to colleges or apply in the spring. Keep your grades up and stay in band and take up any of the other clubs offered if you have time, colleges look at grades but they also look at the extra curricular activities as well. Also, don't stress and good luck in your senior year!
1) congrats.

2) try your very best to get to a good college

3) if not, any higher education, even community college will do for the next 2 years after grad.; then transferring to a university

4) prepare to enter the real life.

Do you know the analogy between being a senior in HS and a parachute jumper for the very first time?

Ask!
start looking into schools that you would be interested in. If you want music to be a big part of your life look into schools that offer it as a major. If you are an outstanding musician then you can be offered a good talent scholarship. Never neglect your studies either, good grades can get you a good scholarship too. Also try to make yourself more rounded by if possible join other clubs. If you find a few schools that you would be interested in attending find out when their open houses are and visit them. if you want to you can also apply for music scholarships through fastweb.com and look for schools on collegeboard.com . Good luck with your future!

  • I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz

even if i wear the loosest of shirts it's still very noticable... i just want to be normal. i have a pretty slim waist so its a really big contrast... how old do you have to get a reduction too?... thanks%26lt;3I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz
Having larger than normal sized breasts at your age can be very embarassing. All the guys will ';eye'; you and make suggestive remarks. Most girls will be jealous and some might even start rumors about you. Right now, since you are still growing, you don't want a reduction. What you need is a good support bra. Have you been fitted for one? It is just one of those things that cannot be helped.

And to top it off, cute clothes and shirts are hard to find and I know you don't want to go into the ';misses'; section or ';women's'; section to shop. I found that wearing a v-necked shirt draws the eye up to my face, rather than a round-necked shirt (like a t-shirt) which will appear to make you bigger. It's okay to wear t-shirts but just be aware of the style. Don't wear horizontal stripes (sideways) or, as you probably know by now, too tight shirts. Always make sure your buttons don't pull between the button holes.

I know, I've been through that. It's hard, but concentrate on your studies, making friends and doing teenage stuff. Don't hunch over to try to hide yourself. Some people with little minds and nothing to do will always try to make your life hell, so do your best to ignore them.I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz
well if you ask me ur being kinda ungrateful cuz i have like no boobs what-so-ever! :( but you don't want a reduction.. gl
you usually have to wait until you're 18, but you can get it sooner if you have your parents permission and the doctor thinks you're mature enough and doing it for the right reasons.

usually, you have to wait until they have stopped developing, and at 13, it's pretty unlikely. the best thing to do would be talk to a doctor about it, and even if you can't get them reduced soon, it will show them that you are committed.
Unless your breasts are interfering with your normal everyday activities no PS will operate on you until after you turn 18, and insurance can cover for it (it covered mine 100%!).

For now, try wearing a ';minimizer'; bra. It kind of squishes you to make you seem smaller than you are. First go get professionally sized at Sears Nordstroms or JCPenneys (NOT victoria secret, I've heard very negative reviews about them sizing incorrectly).
you are NOT being ungrateful! its okay! too much attention does not feel good after a while. if you feel your breasts are going to determine your future..you should get the breast reduction. its just not right, looks shouldnt determine who you are but if people are only going to see your breasts and not you...you should probably have it done. dont listen to people that say your ';ungrateful.'; most of them probably dont have breasts and have low self esteem because of it, they dont understand what its like and what it feels like to have so much attention.
i know have you feel. im 13 and i have the same problem. even with my guy friends. youre not being ungrateful, it can make you feel really awkward. i just try to ignore it, or cross my arms over my chest when someone is looking.
I know I have large chest also, if you lose weight they will shrink. and African Americans tend to have very large chests. I have just had to consider mine a blessing cause my husband loves them you are only 13 so just don't worry about them. don't wear shirts with cleavage and read the style mags they give tips on how to dress for a big bust.
My sister is 16 and has the same problem. It makes her look much bigger than she really is and she gets stared at alot. She also wears very tight shirts which don't help the situation but she wants to wear jr clothes because they are cute and suitable for her age but it's hard to because everything is too small. I don't think you are being ungrateful at all. Besides it's very bad for your back. My sister lives in California and she can't get a reduction until she is 18 but she is definately going to get one and I think she will be much happier. If you have insurance, more than likely it will be covered as it is a health problem. Just wear a good bra and maybe a cute open button shirt over your shirt and don't wear tight shirts with writing on them. Sorry you're having such a hard time.
You just developed fast. Wait it out a few more years before you think about getting any surgery. You're probably not done growing in other areas and may grow into them.
Of course you're not being ungrateful! Though some of us say we'd love to have your size in breasts, we don't really know how we'd feel until we have them. It's important to feel good about yourself, and that means feeling good about your body too. If your breasts are drawing so much negative attention that you're finding it hard to deal with, and you've thought very thoroughly about a breast reduction, then you should consult a doctor. You're only 13, so your breasts are likely to get bigger...so should you opt for surgery, whether you wait until you've grown some more or have surgery soon to avoid more problems is something to think about. Consider too the kind of strain they may be putting on your body/back. Anyhoo, a doctor, maybe even a counselor or your parents, can help you weigh the pros and cons of having surgery. Ultimately, you should feel comfortable and confident about yourself.
tottally normal for you to feel like that the same thing happened to a friend she got a reduction and she felt way better arterwards she said she felt lighter and that it was the best thing ever when a cute guy told her that she had beautiful eyes she was happy that someone finally noticed something other than her breasts i hope evrything turns out ok good luck
lucky i wish i had that but i dont
no dont worry i see plenty of girls at middle school when i was 13 who had big boobs its natural dont get me wrong some do have small ones and medium boobs but i also did see big boobs im sure if you keep them when you get older your body will grow and it will catch up to the size of your boobs and it wont be that noticable but IF it really REALLY bugs you then i do agree maybe you should get a breast reduction and im sure you can get it when your like 16 or so
You are not ungrateful. And don't listen to anyone who tells you other wise. I understand how awkward it is. If you are being harassed you need inform an adult so that it can stop. But, don't worry about a breast reduction just yet. Unless you are having back problems then you should seek some medical attention.

Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?

Hi...I'm a personal trainer, here's my advice....exercise...cardio is the best for burning calories, take a jog around your block a few times, do this at least 3 times a day, do you have a big appetite? if so instead of eating big portions cut your portions in half... when your feeling hungry have a piece of fruit...no junk food...I suggest keeping a diet journal...record your exercise and food intake and remember when exercising keep yourself hydrated...hope this helps.Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?
    - Well first of all becareful of what u eat. Drop carbohydrates. More vegs and protein.

    - Jogging helps but try swimming. Cause it takes more energy to its more demanding. aFter swimming try to overcome the burning hunger.

    - Take up sports. Like tae kwon do lessons.

    - DON'T STARVE YR SELF!!

    - Also when u're on a diet there's a chance u might consume more than u normally do after the dieting session. Takes a lot of self control.Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?
Don't try and lose twenty pounds in a month. It's unsafe. Stop eating sugars, butters, oils and salts. Drink alot of water and exercise as much as you can. Move it to Lose it!! Most important - Eat a balanced diet (plenty of diets on the internet) You must eat to lose weight. You have to eat at least three meals a day, preferably 4 smaller meals a day. Eat oatmeal (plain) every morning and lots of fruit and vegetables (they should be 75% of your daily food intake. Don't smoke and get your cardio at least four times a week. Have faith in yourself and be positive. Good Luck!!!
im trying to do the same thing. i started this week by walking for an hour and doing some light weights to get triceps! definitely cut out sodas and junk food snacks.
    exercise vigorously
South Beach Diet books!!!Then exercise once in a while!Believe me you will be thank full!Just remember to read that book front the back!
Go to the Internet and get the paperback book ';The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet'; by Herman Tarnower, MD and it will only take about 20 days to lose your 20 pounds. The book also tells you how to easily keep the weight off. Then it will be time to break out the miniskirts.
Weight Watchers is the easiest. Just count the points. Also eat every 3 hours, which is a natural way to supress appitite and keep your metabolism up.
ok...stop all soda and chips. that would after a month make u lose like 5 to 10 pounds cos basically u are taking in empty calories. minimize chocolate, and try to eat only dark chocolate. pretty much eat small portions. you no u are done eating when u reach the point that you could eat more, but u are not hungry. this helps because it is scientifically proven that the brain realizes u are full after 20 minutes that ur stomach is full. basically the message is sent slowly.
Running! Everyone underestimates the power of running.
Avoid fatty %26amp; oily foods at all costs. Also avoid flour. Jogging heps a lot.

    (Not walking but jogging).

Advice/articles for bleaching/coloring the tips of hair?

    I want to bleach/color the tips of my (dark brown) hair red. But when I try to google advice on bleaching just the tips, I get ';tips for bleaching your hair!';

does anyone know some articles where i could find advice for dying just the tips? or can anyone give advice?

thanks!Advice/articles for bleaching/coloring the tips of hair?
Bleaching is all the same, whether you do the whole head, only some streaks, the tips or your upper lip. Bleaching means to remove hair colour.

You apply the bleach mixture to any hair you want to have lighter. It's that simple. However, there are a few precautions you need to take to make sure you don't accidentally get bleach on hair you DON'T want to lighten! Since you are only wanting the tips (how much is the tips?), then you need some way to keep the bleach only on the tips. Be sure they are even all around!!

After the colour is lightened sufficiently (you can remove some or all of your natural colour), then apply the appropriate red. Remember that whatever colour the bleached hair is will blend with the red, so be sure it is the right degree of lightness.

When in doubt, it's much safer to have a professional do this for you. They know all the tricks to make it easier, and get just what you want.

    Mnemonics.

    INTRODUCTION

Mnemonics (pronounced ';ne-mon'-ics';) is the art of assisting the memory by using a system of artificial aids - rhymes, rules, phrases, diagrams, acronyms and other devices - all to help in the recall of names, dates, facts and figures.

    Basic mnemonics

These mnemonics can be applied immediately, although it certainly pays off to practice them first. All of these mnemonics are based on elaboration and association, which why we start out with these. Elaboration adds more meaning to a word, while association makes sure that two words are thoroughly linked together in memory.

Kevin, Liverpool, England.I need some solid study techniques for 2 classes that require an insane amount of memorization? Tips %26amp; Advice.
Flash cards might be your best bet for both classes. As to anatomy of all the animals, I know I'm hopeless with memorizing it, even though I usually can memorize other stuff like formulas and and history information without difficulty. So other than flash cards, I couldn't advise you for anatomy.
For the terms and definitions I used flash cards.
Every time you get something new, study it that night until you know it. Every night, review and study every note you get. When it comes to the test, you'll only have to briefly review things and you'll have time to work on the harder things. There is less stress and it always works for me! Make up questions and answers that you think will be on the test. This helps you highlight and outline the main points and it makes it easier to remember things. Good luck!

At the drugstore, find the correct color match for your skin tones by using one of those translucent aids they provide. Just a little pressed powder or liquid foundation will be all you need to even out the color on your face. Some pink or coral powder blush applied high on your cheekbones will add interest.

For powder-type eye shadow, don't pick black or brown. Pick a tannish-grey shade, as you'll be using it on the outer parts of both your upper and lower eyelids. You could try an eyeliner pencil (or liquid applied with a brush) but apply it very lightly on your upper eyelids so you don't look like a raccoon. Be subtle with the mascara too 鈥?upper lashes only, maybe even the outer sides only.

Pink or coral lipstick looks better on light-haired blondes than bright reds or darker colors do. Ah, how many girls would kill to be a naturally light-skinned blonde!Makeup tips/advice and colors too plz?
Skin and stuff doesn't matter sooo much. Are you edgy or not. Do you like bright or dark colors? Dramatic or peaceful look?

I also use baby wipes for makeup removal! Other things I do is brush my lips with a toothbrush to get rid of dead skin, and use a hairdryer when applying mascara. If you're like me and your lashes go down after applying mascara, curl your lashes first and then hold the hairdryer up (cold setting) while applying mascara with the other hand. You'll see how beautiful your lashes end up! Just be careful not to get too much air inside your eyes or they'll dry up.Beauty Tips/ Advice/ What you use:?

Okay an advice for your first day of school find where your classes are and the shortest way to get to them. I came late to almost all my classes on my first day as a freshman. second find your friends before school starts so you guys can come up with a place to meet during lunch and break times. third don't believe anyone that tells you that your freshmen grades don't count that colleges only look at your sophomore grades and above I believed that and now my counselors are telling me it counts. lastly don't stress high school is just like junior high except its bigger and has more people. work hard and get good grades because you actually get some privileges when you get good grades believe me.

Nobody picks on you just because you're a freshman like the show on t.v. and besides you'll be a senior and gone by the time you know it.Freshman in high school... tips. advice. anything. stories.?
High School is a blast, you dont have to be nervous or worried. I remember when i was going in to High School my friends and i were so scared that we would all change and that everything would be just like Mean Girls. My friends older sister said that a lot of people change in high school. We promised each other that we wouldnt change and that we would stick together. We are still best friends but let me tell you, people definitely change, but i have noticed that most of the changes are for the better. Its just all a part of growing up, people naturally change. My freshman year was actually pretty good, and i liked it! Dont be nervous of upper classmen, you'll find that they are very nice. Some tips are to stay focused on your education, but dont let that be the only thing, have a social life and also do at least one sport while your in high school and join clubs. You may even want to do SCA or be a class officer sometime. Hope this helped! Be excited and hav some fun, its a very exciting year!
wow! thats a cool high school! i wish my high school did that when i was a freshman. since the upperclassmen won't be there at the beginning of the day it will take some of the stress away for your first day of school. upperclassmen are really intimidating to freshman! when i was a freshman i had a spanish class with all seniors! (the freshman spanish class was full)and i was terrified! now that i look back on it i realized that i shouldn't have been as scared as i was because some upperclassmen were really cool and really nice. don't be nervous! it will be fun! make some friends, join some clubs, and have fun!

    good luck :)
Don't worry being a freshman is not as bad as television or other stories make it seem. Just be yourself and enjoy your teen years because before you know it you're out on your own in the real world.

    Need a new look tips/advice?

Well just like the question says I need a new look. I haven't exactly found a good style for myself yet and often than not nothing really works. Here's a recent pic of myself http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr213鈥?/a>Need a new look tips/advice?

Same size. I think you're super cute, but maybe thin your bangs a little, they look a little heavy. Could just be the angle of the pic, though...Anyway to look prettier? Tips? Advice? Thank you!?
    ';You look like a wannabe Katy Perry';

The way you can fix this is by thinning your bangs. They have a lot of volume in them so they look really weird.

Next you have to curl your hair in any way. (like katy perry)

Ask a hair stylist if you dont know how, look up hair stylists on like google or something.
you don't need any tips and advice you are really pretty and i am not just saying that becuase everyone is pretty inside and out even though that may be true if any body needs tips and advice to become pretty it is me i wish i was as pretty as you....oh well....but hey what can i do......
Okay, first off, you totally need to stop wearing blush. It makes you look tacky. Then get some bangs. I love your natural hair color. And you're pretty, just wear eyeliner and eyeshadow.
    ur pretty darling :-)

just smile and maybe wear a lil bit of makeup

a lil bit of eyeliner and mascara would suit you

Tips & Advice on getting muscular in 6 weeks or less!!!??

for a petite woman.Tips %26amp; Advice on getting muscular in 6 weeks or less!!!??
Go to the gym, either do classes like legs, bums and tums or something similar to help to tone up. Also do lots of crunches, leg squats, weights (you won't need much if you're small, I'm only small too and I only lift 2kg weights for my arms! but its enough for me to get rid of the bingo wings!), Yes and running is also very good. Swimming is also good for toning the muscles.

Try to eat little and often as well. Have small meal portions (eat reg. 6 times a day) and to try and be healthy I'd suggest snacks such as breakfast/muesli bars, portion of dried fruit/unsalted nuts/ seeds, smoothie, fruit juices and fruit.Tips %26amp; Advice on getting muscular in 6 weeks or less!!!??
    run every other day

for as long as you can

  • I'm starting 7th grade tomorrow! Need tips/advice?

Well I start tomorrow (August 26th)

    And I'm super nervous!

I'm going in with like 0 friends :/

I'm scared to get lost and forget my locker combo and my locker number.

I'm scared the 8th graders will say things to me, and I'm scared to ask them for help.

Really I just need some advice before I start crying lol :)

Thank you SO much! I'm so scared! D:I'm starting 7th grade tomorrow! Need tips/advice?
Okay, I started 7th last year and here is my little opinion:

    1. Don't be afraid to get lost. I got lost going to Keyboard class the first day, lol, and the teacher didn't even care. She just expected us to get lost haha. We were running around like crazies trying to find the keyboard room, but we found it. It's not that scary.

    2. Forgetting your locker combo isn't that bad. WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE! I forgot it sometimes, causing me to be late for a class, but the teacher didn't really care at all. Right your locker number down on a folder or your binder.

    3. I was scared about 8th graders too, but they were really nice and never bothered me. They actually tried to make friends with me. They won't bother you unless you bother them. If they bother you, just remember that they are going to be leaving next year and going to a different school, so you won't have to deal with them when you're in 8th grade. Don't be scared to ask them for help. They probably know more about the school than you do. If they don't help, ask a teacher that is close by.

7th grade was fun. I just went with the flow. I was really nervous for nothing. There we barely any bullies at all.

Also, the teachers are expecting you to get lost believe it or not. It's a new enviornment, and it's a BIG change. They realize that. I mean, they were 7th graders once!I'm starting 7th grade tomorrow! Need tips/advice?
Take a chill pill with yer orange juice hun:]

    It's ohkay!

First, I am in 8th grade,

and I will tell you this.

They won't make fun of you,

    chances are,

they don't even care about you much [no offence haha]

And if you really need to ask for help,

    ask somebody who looks nice!

Somebody who is smiling and laughing and is dressed appropriate,

those are the people who would help you,

if they are dressed poorly and don't look friendly,

don't ask them, they are the people NOT to ask.

About the locker conbo and number...

Write it down on a piece of paper,

and stick it in your pocket

that way if you forget, you can just pull it out.

I don't know about the getting lost part,

    but if you do..

you can always ask a nice 8th grader, a teacher, or the office.

    Just be calm,

    look and feel confident,

and stand out in a good way.

Usually, well at least at my school,

if a new person looks nice, like they take care of themselves, and such me and my friends will go up to them and ask if they wanna sit with us.

    But anyway,

    good luck and have fun!
well I seriously doubt that you would be the only one feeling like that on the 1st day.

best thing for you to do is go in with your head up high and a pleasant smile on your face. as far as the 0 friends go , am sure you will make new ones once you open up and speak ... remember the other person maybe just as nervous as you are .

so just be yourself and go for it.

ps - always a good thing to make friends with the person using the locker next to your's .. that way you wont forget where your locker is.
Hey i was too and i just started a couple days ago. Im not going to lie... I HATED it. I had the same problem as you. But it was my fault. For advice i would tell you to just come out of your shell and meet some new friends. That was really hard for me but i did it! I cried the whole night before. But it helped cause i got it all out of me. And the 8th graders might seem scary but most of them are really nice. If you ever have any problems or ge lost just dont be afraid to ask people. It will get better. I promise. Hope i helped!

    God bless
geez calm down. r u like new there? cause then im pretty sure you would be in the same school. just be the way u were last year and right down ur locker combo and number on ur hand or arm or a piece of paper. 8th graders are just 7th graders but with a bigger number haha. they were 7th graders last year.
OMG ITS FRIKKING OKAY. IM IN 8TH GRADE. just write down your combo and locker number in a place you know you ll never forget it. be friendly and smile to people, youll make friends in no time! the 8th graders wont be mean, and if they are ignore it. they were just like you last year
Just be friendly and im sure you will make friends and about your locker combo write it on a piece of paper and always keep it in your pocket,, i was new when i was in grade seven and it took two weeks but i finally found a friend :)
r u coming in from an elementary school that goes to 6th grade? you will make plenty of new friends doing lots of things. make friends with the ppl u are with in abc order like u r in most classes. stick with your class. once u get past homeroom you have a whole class to get lost with, and plenty of teachers to help.
ah I remember 7th grade. Don't worry it's probably the easiest year in middle school. If your friendly and if you talk you'll make friends in about 10 second flat. Just don't talk to the 8th graders, let them ignore you
well i been moving a bit, and started 7th grade , 9th and 10th all in new schools w/out knowing any1. Just be nice and trust me you will at least find some ppl that will be yer friends. Good LuCK
don't be scared fear makes you vulnerable be happy and you'll make friends and blow right through the school year
    Good luck,Have Fun

Can any models out there give me some advice or tips to get started?

either next year or the year after that i might be going to NYC to try out for ford or elite agencies

i'm 12 and 5'8 and tan i think i have a good shot at itCan any models out there give me some advice or tips to get started?
Hi. I was with Ford in NY and Elite in Paris, it's been a while though.

You sound like you have the height and if you are a size 0-2 you have the right frame. Don't get too tan, it doesn't look good in photos, they can use make up if they want you tan.

If you have a modeling agency where you live (or nearby) it would do you a lot of good to talk to them so you will have had some practice, even if it's cheesy stuff.

There are several really good agencies in NYC so don't limit yourself to Ford %26amp; Elite. Eileen is gone %26amp; Johnny Casablanca retired from Elite and they were the driving forces of those agencies. Marilyn Agency (she used to be my booker in Paris) is very good and I trust her.

Just be careful of some of the ';agencies'; that have been opened by guys with money who's purpose is hitting on the girls. Take your Mom with you until you are older. Can any models out there give me some advice or tips to get started?
honey you're to young. Models are over 18 and you're not even done growing. Wait 6 more years and I highly doubt and 18 year old is going to get a contract with ford unless they are smoking.

I'm interested in just about everything such as nightlife, shopping, amusement type attractions, restauants, hiking, sports of any kind, and sightseeing/views.

I've lived in San Francisco for about half a year now, so I know all about the obvious areas. I'm looking for specific things/places that would be fun. Ex: specific nightclubs that allow 18+, specific sailing company, specific hiking trail in Muir Woods etc.

Three spots that offer unique views are:

1 - The restaurant/bar at the top of the Bank of America building at 550 California Street (bet. Montgomery and Kearney) from which you can see pretty much the entire city,

2 - Coit Tower at 1 Telegraph Hill Blvd. on the top of Telegraph Hill (go up to the top of the tower for the view - it's like looking down from the top of a needle!), and

3 - Angel Island State Park out in the Bay where you'll see The City, Marin, and the East Bay in a way that you can't from anywhere else (it's reached via the Blue %26amp; Gold Ferry line at Pier 41 at Fisherman's Wharf.

    Ebayy selling games tips/advice?

i have halo 1,2,3 for xbox/360. should i go and sell seperately or in a bundle...halo 2 is the ltd edition.

    thanksEbayy selling games tips/advice?
Go and look and see what they are selling for individually just like yours, if one or more sell for alot by itself then sell it by itself since most people willing to pay for alot may not want to buy the other games with it also if its in a bundle and skip over it.

If none are selling for very much then try and bundle them, or see if anyone else is selling all 3 and see what theirs is going for.

Basically just search on ebay some and see.

Fixing car dents with BONDO-----need tips or advice?

im removing all the dents on my car to prep it for a new paint job(which i am going to do).

i've got ';everything'; i need for the whole thing.

i just want some tips, hints, or advice so that this thing comes out great.

just throw me any advice or tips or anything.

thanksFixing car dents with BONDO-----need tips or advice?
sand the dent with 400 grit sandpaper, then clean the area that you sanded with alcohol it will remove all waxes and solvents then mix the bondo and mix it well to remove as many of the air bubbles as possible, then apply the bondo as quickly as possible, once it begins to clump throw it away, for its already started to harden, also before starting cut a few cardboard squares about 10 inches by 10 inches so you will have these to mix the bondo on,, after you sand the surface smooth, you will more than likely notice tiny little pits through the project area, dont sand any further it will cause creases in the area, then you will need to prime these spots or the whole car with polyester primer, because polyester fills these tiny pores and will be easily sanded to smooth, final grit will be 600 wet, any finer the paint wont stick, any rougher you will see the sand marks happy paintingFixing car dents with BONDO-----need tips or advice?
pull dent,s as much as possible.........then rough up the surface...this will insure better adhesion........don,t over fill the area.........file...then sand.......don,t trust your eye,s........feel the surface........if you can feel any imperfection,s they will show after paint...........work in a clean, dry, dust free area,....try to keep the humidity to a mini um.........good luck!.......also keep temperature variance,s to a minimum!
Take ur time and do it right. The process that u are planing on doing like prepping for paint is Extremely tedious it takes a long time if u going to do it buy itself. U have to take u time and sand everything down so that its all 1 smooth layer and this takes awhile and u can get anxious and half-*** it Also when u done painting it make sure u wet sand it to get that showroom shine. Make sure u go slow and keep in ur mind it going to be long work ahead also make sure u wear a respirator when sanding and gloves to u don't wanna breath in that dust u can buy 1 at a paint store
If the dents are too large, you might have to use a ding puller. You drill a hole or holes and then you take the ding puller and yank it out. If you pull too hard, beat it back with a body hammer.

As far as bondo is concerned, make sure the surface is etched and clean. When you think you have it smooth and are ready to prime, you can prime the area and then dust with another color of primer, or paint. This will let you see bondo scratches and pits. You can buy a tube of putty to fill any that are too large to be filled with primer. Finish sand with 400 or finer before painting.

I sanded my truck with 600 before painting it.
Make sure that you really follow the directions on the Bondo. If you leave little creases in the Bondo after you sand it and then paint the car you will see ripples in the paint job when the sun hits it right.
Work out the dents as much as possible. The less bondo, the better.
Make sure you get as few dents as possible before you start with the bondo, the less the better. Apply it in VERY thin layers and let it dry, slowly build up to an even finish with the car. Then very finely sand it so you cannot tell the difference between the dent area and the primed steel area.

Revision techniques and advice, tips? please anyone?

currently in year 10 of high school, so next september i'll be in college hopefully. the one i want to go is a grammar one and you have to get A's and A* for the subject you want to study. i want to study maths, biology, chemistry, physiology are these good topics if i want to be a dentist or a doctor (accident and emergency or a surgeon not decided yet.) what can i do these two years to make sure i get the grades and qualify (please don't say just revise, maybe some revision techniques, tips and advice?)

thanks for anyone who answers :DRevision techniques and advice, tips? please anyone?
The way I revise is by making notes as we go along through the year. Get a copy of the specification for your course and make notes directly from the specification, 'answering' each point on it. Make sure you understand all the topics rather than memorising the content.

Good LuckRevision techniques and advice, tips? please anyone?
some revision techniques, tips and advice :

    - make a schedule for yourself based on the syllabus, difficulty level of subject, time required to study %26amp; revise, etc.

    - display this where you can see %26amp; follow it

    - do your studies Daily

    - keep a few minutes of each day to revise that day's work

    - then have a weekly revision. eg. every sunday, instead of studying something new, just allocate a few hours to revise whatever was taught %26amp; studied during the week. keep another hour or so to see what you will be covering in the coming week. take the rest of the day off.

    - you can also try to solve some previous test/exam Qs. during the weekend. if you feel the need, time yourself %26amp; also grade yourself or get it graded.

    - get your doubts cleared as soon as possible. always make sure the concept is clear in your mind.

    - keep practicing - especially maths. once you understand the concept, only practice is required.

    - for biology %26amp; physiology, it is always a good idea to get to the root of the word [there are so many long/new terms]. when you break up the word into its constituents %26amp; roots, it becomes very easy to understand, learn, remember %26amp; use.

    - try to relate whatever you can to real life experiences %26amp; situations so that your studies are not merely theoretical. think of how it can be used or how it manifest itself in real life....why is it important to know about it, how can it be used in daily life, %26amp; so on.

    - try to make up your own questions %26amp; then answer them. formulating Qs where deeper understanding %26amp; application is required is an art in itself. it also makes you think %26amp; realise what you know/don't know.

finally, eat healthy %26amp; on time, sleep well, exercise %26amp; play ...

hope these help you get started

    all the very best always

Going to Vietnam in November, any tips or advice?

be polite,as you will be treated politely , be friendly as the viets are very friendly be cautious because you cant trust anyone anywhere[sorry i'm from n.y. thats the way i was raised] . bargin hard for everything ..even cab rides..but dont get nasty or rude about it,be fair and not only will you get a fair price but you just may make a friend. be healthy before you go , airplanes are an easy place to get sick. get a tetanus shot before you go, ,take cold meds and antibiotics with you. it will rain while your there , pick up good rain gear when you arrive [any market] or a 25 cent pullover [ any street-side store ]to carry around with you. be careful on the streets , learn to walk across the intersections by watching others.. you''ll get the hang of it ,then rent a bike. take bike rides, locally. hire a moto driver to take you on day trips outside of town. party at night but not so much that you cant wake up before 8 am.. life begins very early in viet nam and make a point of being out on the street by 5am at least once in every place you visit.. it may be the best thing you do and you can always take a nap later.. plan ahead but be very flexible. this may be the most important thing because plans have a way of changing in ';the nam '; ..often what you improv will turn out to be more fun than what you've planned.. always have a back up plan ..always..

go through ';the resolved questions'; on this site for many great ideas and suggestionsGoing to Vietnam in November, any tips or advice?
Hanoi is much more interesting and beautiful that HoChiMinh City, the old town is lovely to walk round . If you are going to HoChiMinh, visit one of the big food markets they are really great for seeing the real deal. Don't buy birds from the vendors outside temples, they are half dead in horrible little cages and as soon as you have released them the vendors re-trap them and put them back in the cage. It is very cruel. The Mekong delta is nice and interesting. China beach is a waste of time, not interesting and quite bleak. Hoi An is lovely, a really nice place to stroll round the old town and wander through the market. You must try Pho it is really quite nice and Fanny ice cream is really much, much, nicer than it sounds. Don't go down the Cu Chi tunnels if you are claustrophobic. There is a beautiful 'forbidden city' at Hue, which was a scene of heavy fighting in the war. The people are really great and very friendly.

If you have the opportunity to visit Laos as well do so, the temples are stunning.Going to Vietnam in November, any tips or advice?
bring your coat for certain. It is going to be so cold in November.

try Hot Pot. it is good to taste that kind of food in such cold weather.

order you visa the sooner the better because there may be many people ordering a visa to Vietnam in the Vietnamese embassies in your country. Apply for visa on arrival if your passport is still valid 1 month.
You shoud go to Ho Chi Minh city it's a very nice place. Also bring an extra suitcase for all the inexpansive stuff you buy there. Try not to wear to much jewelry either because someone might try to steal it from you. Also make sure that you never go alone anywhere all by yourself.Afterall you never really know what could happen Have fun!

PS: Its super hot over in Vietnam.
avoid the north. because it was communist and separate from the south so it is less developed than the south. worse roads and less people talk english. that said it is beautiful up there so really the pros outway the cons. Can I have some sex on top tips/advice? read below?

Ok so i did it before but I don't think it was right. I want to ask my man but I don't want to be embarrased. Do I bounce up and down? What? need some adviceCan I have some sex on top tips/advice? read below?
It's more like a rocking motion. Porn will help you learn how to move but the best way is ask your guy if he likes it or wants you to try moving different ways. Can I have some sex on top tips/advice? read below?
    Ask Dr. Sue Johanson.
Do what feels right FOR YOU.
LOL! The questions on here today are a riot! Don't just sit there sweetie...move around!
Lots of good answers...you can also sit on top with your back to him.....that way he gets a good look at your behind.
What feels good for you and your partner? That's the answer everytime.
    Just grind into it...slowly...midtempo....

Circular grinding is good as well.
Bounce up and down, lean back and groan, then act like he's killing you and lean forward against him groaning. He'll go nuts.
DONT BOUNCE%26lt; you can break off his Johnson, well not off but break one of the three vessels,, slowly move up and down and while you move up, squeeze your who who muscles, and then ease up to go back down,
It is more a rocking motion than an up %26amp; down bouncing...
its not really a bouncing kinda thing, but if you like that and he likes it, do it. and if you can't talk to your man, you 2 have no business having sex. talk to him. every guy is different, he'll tell you how to do it for him!
do what feels good to you, and your partner will be turned on by seeing you have pleasure. That's what being on top is about, the show.
    watch porn
Ya gotta get a rythm. Hold his hands, it helps with balance.
LOL. Yeah, a little bit doesn't hurt, but its more like the rocking motion (back / forth /side or the hoola hoop grind). It depends on who wants to do the work and who wants to be ';submissive'; and chilling... You could ';bounce'; as you say and have your partner just lie on his back... or do it doggy style and have your man do all the work while you kneel on your knees. Also the ';cowgirl'; position (girl on top, guy bottom) you could have him feel, massage, and caress your sensual breasts.

Also includes lots of foreplay... that gets us guys really turned on! XD
First give him head then you can do the bounce.
sorry had to laugh at this one....i use to hate doin it for the first time but i got use to it...u dont always have to bounce up and down just do it like ur grinding him but only with him inside you...... move up and down.....you can do it faster at times and it will get him goin crazy....do whats best for you....sooner or later you'd get the hang of it and learn more tricks on ur own...
You need to do whatever movement that feels best and that his penis will slide in and out of you. If you're on top he can still do some thrusting or you just need to move up and down. You can also lean in on top of him so that he can thrust upwards or your can move your hips up and down. If you are right up on him and you're both moving, try to get a nice rhythm going between the two of you. Start slow, it'll probably come out a few times till you get a nice pattern together and learn how to move with each other, then you can pick up the speed if you like. Nothing is worse for the guy when it slides out and she lands right on top of it. Once it's in start slow and slowly build up a pace that you like.
Ditto on the rocking motion. But, you should ask him what he likes. Knowing what he likes will make it a bit more interesting for you both.
When you are gettin busey, check out facial expressions...if he looks like he is being pleasured...more then likly you are doing somthin right...if he looks kinda bord...try somthin diffrent
    Here's what you do:

    (1) Use a spermicidal birth control, but don't tell him.

    (2) Remove his condom, if he's wearing one.

    (3) Climb on top, like a cowgirl on a bronco--this is crucial.

    (4) Rock your hips back and forth like you're in a saddle.

    (5) When he's about to climax, scream, ';LET'S MAKE A BABY!';

    (6) Clench your knees on his hips as hard as you can, and try not to get thrown off as he bucks crazily, trying to pull out.

    EDIT: SERIOUS NOTE

Be EXTREMELY careful if you do the ';bouncing'; thing. If you get carried away, he can slip out of you as you bounce up. If this happens, when you come down again, you CAN fracture his penis. If this happens, get to an emergency room IMMEDIATELY. Yes, it's embarassing, but this is an injury that is NOT going to get better on its own.

Don't escalate things when it starts, just try remaining quiet and if she sees you quiet then she'll eventually stop and feel stupid. trust me on that oneWhat are some ways to stop fighting with ur partner?? Any tips..advice..things u can physially do??
    leave.
    sleep on couch
it depends on what youre fighting about. try and talk about it reasonably, and one at a time. try and talk. and you two are really fighting, as in yelling and just completly mad. try and get a punching bag, turn up the music really loud, and just let it have it. i will help, tust me. good luck.
write it down on paper... just keep writing. Otherwise try the * I understand that there is a problem, I realize it's something that we don't agree on, but I am not ready to discuss it. I will, but just not now... please it down and let me gather my thoughts. (then go and sleep on the couch) lol
Realize that a fight/argument takes two people. If yo refuse to participate in anything but a cordial and friendly dialogue, the fight won't take place. Period.
like your bingo partner? maybe let them win every once in a while
    get independent

    marriage

    do something
Empower yourself, and smile. The only person you can change is you. Once your behavior changes, their behavior will have to change.

Physically. Stand up straight, shoulders back, hands on hips or arms crossed, maintain eye contact. Refuse to yell. Do not say anything while the other person is speaking. Do not say anything if the other person is yelling. Once they stop talking, you can talk. Watch your language. Use ';I'; statements. Don't accuse the other person of anything, especially if it is his/her fault.

    It really works. Good luck.
If you love each other and are willing to do anything to stay together you should go see a counselor..I know it sounds generic but it can really help..If you do not have the money for a therapist then you should go to your local church usually they have free counseling...Try it what do you have to lose.? An honest, long, fulfilled relationship ?

    Good luck!
If ur partner wants to fight then I think u should not response or answer(bit)him. Then u will find that he is not interested any more %26amp; he will stop doing that!

    Ok! BEST OF LUCK!

    WALK AWAY!
It would be a good idea to seek counselling although, if there is constant fighting, it probably is a sign there is not much hope for this relationship.
Hmm I'm not a fight or an argument lover person , I usually listen and wait for my gf to calm down ( cause I go nuts and crazy when I get angry and I find myself in a worse state lol when I argue, just gets outta control so I avoid getting into fights. )

When shes all said and done , just Accept all the stuff she says and take it easy lol while she is nagging and scolding , try to think of the happiest moments of her lol it works and it helped you to stay calm.

But Accepting each other is important, there are some things you cant change ( and probably these stuff are the plot of the arguments and fights ) .. Both side has to know tht keep on arguing will disincline one and other..
keep your mouth shut .....10 pts for best answer :))

    Tips, Advice, Suggestions?

Hi, I am a twenty year old male. I go to college. I own my own car and have a great job, and I'm also deppressed. To me it seems like all the girls that want to be with me , have been around the block many times with many diifrent guys. So i Want to try something diffrent and go for a diffrent type of girl, some one new who dose not know me. I found this really pretty girl at wal-mart that i would like to ask out. Whenevere i try i seem to have coffidence issues and chicken out, i know i am worthy enough for her but don't have the balls just to ask out. Why, and dose anyone have any genral tips to work up the gull to ask her out.Tips, Advice, Suggestions?
    Ok, heres a tip,

don't do a whole conversation the first time you meet, make her laugh, keep her happy, get her EMAIL or NUMBER then call her on a date.

Remember, you'll be havng to go up to her, so make sure you got a good pick up. And, confidence, don't fiddle too much.Tips, Advice, Suggestions?
You can chose to live the rest of your life knowing you are a coward...or face the fear and just ask...what's the worst thing she can say...yes?

At least if she says no, that's one less woman in the world that you have to ask out. Besides, it's just a date, you aren't marrying her, raising kids and getting a mortgage.

It took three tries asking before my wife agreed to our first date.
Ummm well I suggest that you get the nerve... to ask her out.... Good luck.
MAKE SURE FEELING ARE MUTUAL AND STOP GOIN FOR THE SAME KINDA GIRLS LIKE JUST SWING AROUND THE BLOCK. IF YOU LIKE HER JUST CHOOSE A WAY YOUR BEST COMFORTABLE WITH SHOWING HER LIKE IN A LETTER OR FLOWERS OR SOMETHING JUST CUTE. TAKE YOUR TIME DONT PRESSURE YOURSELF. AND HAVE FUN WITH IT. DONT STRESS BECAUSE ITS DOESNT COME OUT THE WAY YOU LIKE IT. AND IF SHE LIKES YOU THEN IT WOULDNT MATTER SO DONT TRIP AND JUST GO WITH THE FLOW. AND DONT THINK ABOUT IT SOOOO MUCH. HAVING MA FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU!! ^-^
just start a conversation, ask her about a place she would want 2 go to, and suggest going there together.
    email it

or kick yourself until you do it
You dont work it up you will either do it or you wont nothing we are going to say is going to help you do it
why would you jsut wanna ask out a girl from wal-mart? do you even know her at all. yea that is sweet and all but still. do you have netlog?

well its a GREAT site to try and get ppl. I EVEN HAVE IT :'( lol but you can get to know girls on there post a shout saying i NEED to talk to girls! but not girls who've been around the block a few times
Go for it, ask her if she has a boyfriend if she said no, ask her out u don't have nothing to lose.
ok if u seem that she will like u or is even interested in u, then ask her out. dont chicken out, just ask her! or ull regret it. so dont regret and just go for it; she might actually like u.

    HELP!!! first kiss tips/advice?!?

whatever you do do not think about anything that kristy said lolHELP!!! first kiss tips/advice?!?
ive got the best answer for you girl

#1 What you should do is kiss around his mouth but not fully on his lips. After a bit he will be dieng for the real kiss

#2 But your elbow on his sholder while your kissing

It makes you feel more close

#3When your done kissing suck on his lip. They go crazy

    Breath

Try Trident Tropical Twist it will wake up his senses.

    Lips

Also try softlips lip balm it is totally awesome
    i havn't had mine yet and I'm a sophomore, 15. turning 16 this may.

but I'm prolly gunna have my first kiss this valentines day;p

and after reading all these slightly pointless and useless tips...I think its just a:

    1. lean in

    2. have him reach your lips first (he'll most likely take lead then)

and idk I havnt kissed yet...so ha if i'm wrong, sorry:[

    but good luck:)
Just kiss him, let him lead the way.

If you don't feel comfortable kissing him, then don't do it, you don't want to be known as promiscouis.

    Just do what feels right.
It honestly comes so naturally. After you do it, your going to wonder why you were so worked up about it.
make out or kiss? if its just a peck, youll be fine=)

if its make out, dont use too much toung!! ease into it. youll be finee!
It comes naturally, just go for it.
suck like a hoover vacuum cleaner.
    just go with the flow:)

Holloween Tips And Advice? (Haunted Houses!)?

This Halloween me and a bunch of my friends were planning on making a haunted house. We are going to use a garage (it has a garage door at one end and an exit at the other, not attached to the house.) its about a one car garage i guess? and we need some CHEAP ideas for our haunted house. Holloween Tips And Advice? (Haunted Houses!)?
I have been doing home haunts for the past 15 years and money is always an issue. I got very tired of buying props as they are so expensive, so we started making all of our own props. It's pretty easy to do and there are tons of websites with step by step directions.

First off make some walls! If you are doing them inside what we did is to put eye bolts into the studs of the walls, then run cables (small cable is pretty cheap and is more durable than rope) then buy black plastic (at the hardware store in the paint department) drape over a couple inches and use zipties to secure it to the cables. Run a few across the other direction, then cut out your walkway doors.

Here are a few ideas that are cheap to work on the look of your haunted house.

If anyone will be passing near windows,

Paint them with a water based paint. We had an illusion inside one of the windows and made people walk up to look inside. A ';peppers ghost'; or ';flying crank ghost'; illusion looks great. If you can't do any of that just cutting out a silhouette and placing a red, black, or any eerie light in the room will create the right effect.

I took large dead tree branches about 4-6 feet tall ones and screwed them together to make dead trees.

The bagged cobwebs are inexpensive and can create a great look as well as protect people from touching your props.

If you have the time and effort making a bottomless pit is a great effect especially outside where it is more believable.

Fog is of course important! But if you have an old cooler you can make a fog chiller to chill the fog keeping it creeping along the ground instead of just flying up and away.

Making gravestones is good! An added touch is to take a dark towel, place it in front of the grave, cover it with dirt then place a hand or head like it's a fresh grave and something's coming out.

Get a couple of spot lights paint them red (spray paint on regular bulbs works) and highlight some of your better props. It also works well when you want their attention away from where an actor may be hiding to scare.

A couple of full sized stuffed dummy's laying around get their guards down so that when you dress an actor the same way and make it obvious that they are stuffed, when the people walk by that when you strike!

    Well hope those helped!

You can check out what we have done for the past few years on our website, www.FernleyHalloween.com , although I have not updated it from last year. We started just like you and now is a small town we had over 1200 people and the TV and News papers both did stories on us.

    Source(s):

Check out www.hauntershangout.com for some prop building ideas too.Holloween Tips And Advice? (Haunted Houses!)?
You definetly need to get spider webs but you can get that at the dollar store. We made a haunted house with our porch and wat we did was put up wood all around it to make it a room. We put up black plastic table cloths on the wood so it would be black. Then we made a dead bride and groom. We had a scare crow so we used its body and then put my dads shirt and a pair of pants on it. We had a table out on our porch and we set it like a regular table. We even had an empty bottle of tequila LOL! I think you should kind of make a maze. You can make tombstones out of wood and spray paint them. You can also make a dead bride with an old table cloth made of lace or something like that. A few of you should dress up really scary and hide in the garage and scare people who are in there. Another idea is to hang up skulls in different places, spiders, and ghosts. Get a black light for the entrance and the exit so it even looks spooky outside. Put severed hands and feet and fingers every where. You can even make fake blood and put it close to the fingers and stuff. Another idea is make a body out of garbage bags and make it look like a person but put the head next to it and do the blood thing also. Well hope you have fun and just do a bunch of scary things. I love spiders LOL cause so many people are afraid of spiders LOL. Hope you have fun!
I would first suggest extending it out to the lawn. A good graveyard can be made with some 1 1/2 inch styrofoam (most home improvement stores sell it in 10' by 6' sheets for about $10... you can make a whole graveyard out of one sheet if you cut it right), some grey spray paint, and some old wire coat hangers to stake them into the ground.

inside, I would first clear out anything sharp, and anything you don't want stolen. Get some old sheets and paint a backdrop. If you know someone who works at a warehouse get your hands on some good sized cardboard boxes. They're great for making pillars and coffins.

Stop by a discount store (Big Lots, Dollar General, etc) and get some cheap props. I've found 4' skeletons for about $8 each in the past, and they're great. You can do either store bought spider webs, or pick up some white yarn and weave your own (which is time consuming, but the effect is impressive if done well).

I also recommend a CD player with some suitably eerie sound effects or music, and some cheap flood lights with colored light bulbs (I like red, green, or blue, depending on the mood I'm trying to set).

If you can afford it, a black light or two are really nifty, especially if you can get your hands on some flourescent paint or fabric. I've got a whole collection of black lights I've pick up for a few dollars at garage sales, though it might be too late in the season to find them there.
Black garbage bags if you want to make a hall way (doubles the length)

Make a person into a scarecrow in the dark and have him jump up.

Make a person hide in the rafters and scream and grab at people (completely freaked me out)

Have dark lights (black painted lights not black lights) so that people can't see everything. It makes it more scary!

Use the candy as a way to scare people. Have a fake bowl and someone hiding under the table with their hand hiding in the fake bowl. Hide their hand with candy and have them grab people when they go to get the candy! :)

  • Fashion tips and advice...greatly appreciated!?

hey! i am collecting information on many different topics so i wanted some tips and stuff like that on fashion. like what are good outfits, whats in whats out. what you enjoy wearing or whatever you want to write thank you so much!Fashion tips and advice...greatly appreciated!?
Tights are an amazing thing to have. Since winter is here the favorite skirts and dresses you wore in the summer are a little chilly, this is why tights are amazing! You can still wear that outfit!

Flats are great as well! You can wear them with almost anything! The only problem is they are a little chilly for the wintertime, so you might not want to wear them. Boots are great in this case. I just got a pair of leather boots and I wear them all the time! They can work with anything!

Headbands! I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Headbands work for any length hair and are a great thing to wear when you can't think of a hairstyle.

Trench coats are so cute and are totally in this season! They are perfect for winter weather and I love how they look! They can be a bit pricey though.

Belts. And I dont just mean a belt to hold those too-big pants up. People are using belts to accent their middle so if you love your waist, try a belt to show it off! You can wear them over shirts or dresses or high waisted skirts!

Never combine patterns! I know that some magazines may say this looks cute, but its overwhelming! A flower pattern shirt and a striped bottom don't work! They distract from your face as well!

Word of advice: The unwritten rules in fashion are so many; too many to count. Here is one. So many people look through fashion magazines and wear exactly what they see. But that isnt the point. The fashion world doesnt want everyone looking the same. They want people to use this seasons fashions, and make them into something that they would wear! What i mean by this is you have to give what you see your own twist or else everything looses personality.

    I hope this all helped!

OH! one more thing! Fashion is currently changing, but they are all pulling everything from something that has already been done before. Let me explain. This year, its the 80s all over again. Do you get what I mean? They take things that have been done before, and add new little bits to them!

Any tips and advice on how to get a children's story and picture book published?

Luck, persistence, networking, decent writing, Unhindered by defeat, the text can be read by/understood by/enjoyed by children once they CAN read it, some kind of hook such as great illustrations that accompany the story line, a publisher of course, but don't hold your breath. At 1500 plus submissons a week, you may be on the bottom of the pile for a very long time, OR if read and you are fortunate enough to get a rejection notice,,, take it as a compliment that at least the story was read.

12 Sesame street stories, long ago, still enjoy childrens works.

Take a lesson from stories like ';Good Night Moon'; and Polar Express'; to name two.

Seek out the smaller houses, and those that are strictly devoted to material for children. Start with features, submitted to magazines.

Be innovative, but not abstract, follow the standards/classics and safety in them.

Get copies of Writers Digest, and scan the classifieds in the back, looking for submissions.

    New york tips&advice?

I'm going to nyc in august, can you suggest me any interesting places, someplace where there is good food at a good price, somewhere to go , convenient shoops?

    Thanks a lotNew york tips%26amp;advice?
here are some suggestions and tips from our personal experience:

we went to NY for a week.

    we had a blast!!!

you should visit Serendipity for dessert :)

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/03/day-鈥?/a>

there's a book called Lonely Planet (NYC)

it is a really really helpful book for tourists like us because it includes walking tours, etc, and places to eat.

by the way, instead of waiting for hours in line to get to the statue of liberty, you may opt to have the NY waterway tour instead. This way, you will save enough time to tour other parts of the city :)

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/03/tour鈥?/a>

there's also the famous BULL at the financial district :)

you should also try the yummiest Pizza Margherita at 'Lil Frankie in East Village ^,^

if you have more time, try walking the stretch of Brooklyn Bridge.

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/03/trav鈥?/a>

this serves as an exercise too.. hihihi

also, do visit Saint Patricks's Cathedral at 5th avenue.

    don't miss to go inside.

    it's wonderful!!!

we also went to Top of the Rock instead of the Empire State Building to avoid the long line hihihi because we were afraid we won't have enough time to see other parts of NYC :)

for shopping, you may want to visit Century 21, just across the former WTC.

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/03/livi鈥?/a>

you should have lunch/brunch at Cafe lalo!!! or at Sarabeth's :)

we chose Cafe Lalo hihihi because of the ambiance and because it's famous.

To relax, try having a picnic at Central Park.

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/03/labo鈥?/a>

we chose to eat at the top of one huge rock there to have e good view of the whole central park :)

then, we went to MET (entrance is by donation only, you don't have to give 20 USD)

if you're a techie like my friends, you may want to visit the MAC store. it is now a tourist spot because of its unique architecture :p

    DON'T MISS eating at PARADOU!!!

    it's a MUST!!!

    trust me on this!

you also gotta watch a broadway show! definitely!

    there's WICKED and SPAMALOT :)

n New York City, where the upper class rules all, it is important that everyone try to share in wonderful life that is Manhattan. Here are a few places that young black professionals can go to experience some of the cuisinal benefits of being the Big Apple.

    Chino's

173 3rd Avenue, New York, NY

Ever had roast pork sandwich on a grilled Mandarin bun? Well, then you are missing out on life! The pork is marinated in rice-wine, and it is roasted to a tender and moist texture. The pork is then covered with plum sauce. The Mandarin bun is nice and soft and is grilled to perfection. All this is topped with cilantro and kimchi for the perfect completion of an Asian delicacy.

    Russian Tea Room

    150 W. 57th Street, New York, NY

It's expensive, so come in a big group and enjoy the time. But once you get passed the fact that everything is marked up like a 21 year-old's sex count, you're in for a really good time. Obviously, if you go to the Russian Tea Room you need to try out one of the forty vodkas and cocktails. When it comes time to order food though, make sure you get some caviar, because it is some of the best in the city. Now it does get pricey. You could get the California Golden Osetra for $120 for 30 grams, or you could get the Iranian Special Reserve for $300 for 30 grams. But for you young black professionals on a budget, go for the Red Caviar from salmon and trout for only $25 per 30 grams. Trust me; you can't beat caviar and a drink at the Russian Tea Room with your friends. It's a hell of a time, and one you'll find yourself doing over and over again.

    have fun In NY
I'm actually going to have a week long vacation there with my boyfriend next week and had been researching it. I have been (really) studying the subway system. It will get you places so I'd suggest you do the same. Here are just the places off my head where we'd go:

    - Statue of Liberty (of course, a must)

    - Empire State Building

    - Central Park

    - Rockefeller Center

    - Ground Zero WTC Site

    - Grand Central Station

    - Times Square

I think this probably covers the basics for NYC, and if you have more time then you might be able to visit other boroughs like Bronx, Queens, etc. I'd like to see Coney Island too. :)

As for food, food is cheap almost anywhere in the States so I don't think you'd have a problem with that. Enjoy NYC!
