Im Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?

hopefully i can get a band scholarshipIm Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?
Start by calling your high school and making an appointment with your school counselor. Tell your counselor you have no idea how to start this process.

If your school does not have a counselor for you or you can't get in to see them, then I feel bad for you and all the students at your school.

If you need help with understanding the college selection process, feel free to check out my online classes on the subject. You can go to globalscholar.com and type in my name ';Kerrie'; in the search box.Im Going to be a Senior in H.S this year, tips and advice please?
Make sure you have your SAT or ACT scores in and if not do that as soon as possible. You can start looking at scholarships in the spring I believe, your parents will need to fill out the FAFSA and the sooner the better but they will need to wait until after the new year to do that when they get W-2s in and what not. You can also apply early to colleges or apply in the spring. Keep your grades up and stay in band and take up any of the other clubs offered if you have time, colleges look at grades but they also look at the extra curricular activities as well. Also, don't stress and good luck in your senior year!
1) congrats.

2) try your very best to get to a good college

3) if not, any higher education, even community college will do for the next 2 years after grad.; then transferring to a university

4) prepare to enter the real life.

Do you know the analogy between being a senior in HS and a parachute jumper for the very first time?

Ask!
start looking into schools that you would be interested in. If you want music to be a big part of your life look into schools that offer it as a major. If you are an outstanding musician then you can be offered a good talent scholarship. Never neglect your studies either, good grades can get you a good scholarship too. Also try to make yourself more rounded by if possible join other clubs. If you find a few schools that you would be interested in attending find out when their open houses are and visit them. if you want to you can also apply for music scholarships through fastweb.com and look for schools on collegeboard.com . Good luck with your future!

  • I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz

even if i wear the loosest of shirts it's still very noticable... i just want to be normal. i have a pretty slim waist so its a really big contrast... how old do you have to get a reduction too?... thanks%26lt;3I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz
Having larger than normal sized breasts at your age can be very embarassing. All the guys will ';eye'; you and make suggestive remarks. Most girls will be jealous and some might even start rumors about you. Right now, since you are still growing, you don't want a reduction. What you need is a good support bra. Have you been fitted for one? It is just one of those things that cannot be helped.

And to top it off, cute clothes and shirts are hard to find and I know you don't want to go into the ';misses'; section or ';women's'; section to shop. I found that wearing a v-necked shirt draws the eye up to my face, rather than a round-necked shirt (like a t-shirt) which will appear to make you bigger. It's okay to wear t-shirts but just be aware of the style. Don't wear horizontal stripes (sideways) or, as you probably know by now, too tight shirts. Always make sure your buttons don't pull between the button holes.

I know, I've been through that. It's hard, but concentrate on your studies, making friends and doing teenage stuff. Don't hunch over to try to hide yourself. Some people with little minds and nothing to do will always try to make your life hell, so do your best to ignore them.I'm 13 and I'm tired of getting wrong attention for my size D breasts. Am I being ungrateful? Advice tips, plz
well if you ask me ur being kinda ungrateful cuz i have like no boobs what-so-ever! :( but you don't want a reduction.. gl
you usually have to wait until you're 18, but you can get it sooner if you have your parents permission and the doctor thinks you're mature enough and doing it for the right reasons.

usually, you have to wait until they have stopped developing, and at 13, it's pretty unlikely. the best thing to do would be talk to a doctor about it, and even if you can't get them reduced soon, it will show them that you are committed.
Unless your breasts are interfering with your normal everyday activities no PS will operate on you until after you turn 18, and insurance can cover for it (it covered mine 100%!).

For now, try wearing a ';minimizer'; bra. It kind of squishes you to make you seem smaller than you are. First go get professionally sized at Sears Nordstroms or JCPenneys (NOT victoria secret, I've heard very negative reviews about them sizing incorrectly).
you are NOT being ungrateful! its okay! too much attention does not feel good after a while. if you feel your breasts are going to determine your future..you should get the breast reduction. its just not right, looks shouldnt determine who you are but if people are only going to see your breasts and not you...you should probably have it done. dont listen to people that say your ';ungrateful.'; most of them probably dont have breasts and have low self esteem because of it, they dont understand what its like and what it feels like to have so much attention.
i know have you feel. im 13 and i have the same problem. even with my guy friends. youre not being ungrateful, it can make you feel really awkward. i just try to ignore it, or cross my arms over my chest when someone is looking.
I know I have large chest also, if you lose weight they will shrink. and African Americans tend to have very large chests. I have just had to consider mine a blessing cause my husband loves them you are only 13 so just don't worry about them. don't wear shirts with cleavage and read the style mags they give tips on how to dress for a big bust.
My sister is 16 and has the same problem. It makes her look much bigger than she really is and she gets stared at alot. She also wears very tight shirts which don't help the situation but she wants to wear jr clothes because they are cute and suitable for her age but it's hard to because everything is too small. I don't think you are being ungrateful at all. Besides it's very bad for your back. My sister lives in California and she can't get a reduction until she is 18 but she is definately going to get one and I think she will be much happier. If you have insurance, more than likely it will be covered as it is a health problem. Just wear a good bra and maybe a cute open button shirt over your shirt and don't wear tight shirts with writing on them. Sorry you're having such a hard time.
You just developed fast. Wait it out a few more years before you think about getting any surgery. You're probably not done growing in other areas and may grow into them.
Of course you're not being ungrateful! Though some of us say we'd love to have your size in breasts, we don't really know how we'd feel until we have them. It's important to feel good about yourself, and that means feeling good about your body too. If your breasts are drawing so much negative attention that you're finding it hard to deal with, and you've thought very thoroughly about a breast reduction, then you should consult a doctor. You're only 13, so your breasts are likely to get bigger...so should you opt for surgery, whether you wait until you've grown some more or have surgery soon to avoid more problems is something to think about. Consider too the kind of strain they may be putting on your body/back. Anyhoo, a doctor, maybe even a counselor or your parents, can help you weigh the pros and cons of having surgery. Ultimately, you should feel comfortable and confident about yourself.
tottally normal for you to feel like that the same thing happened to a friend she got a reduction and she felt way better arterwards she said she felt lighter and that it was the best thing ever when a cute guy told her that she had beautiful eyes she was happy that someone finally noticed something other than her breasts i hope evrything turns out ok good luck
lucky i wish i had that but i dont
no dont worry i see plenty of girls at middle school when i was 13 who had big boobs its natural dont get me wrong some do have small ones and medium boobs but i also did see big boobs im sure if you keep them when you get older your body will grow and it will catch up to the size of your boobs and it wont be that noticable but IF it really REALLY bugs you then i do agree maybe you should get a breast reduction and im sure you can get it when your like 16 or so
You are not ungrateful. And don't listen to anyone who tells you other wise. I understand how awkward it is. If you are being harassed you need inform an adult so that it can stop. But, don't worry about a breast reduction just yet. Unless you are having back problems then you should seek some medical attention.

Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?

Hi...I'm a personal trainer, here's my advice....exercise...cardio is the best for burning calories, take a jog around your block a few times, do this at least 3 times a day, do you have a big appetite? if so instead of eating big portions cut your portions in half... when your feeling hungry have a piece of fruit...no junk food...I suggest keeping a diet journal...record your exercise and food intake and remember when exercising keep yourself hydrated...hope this helps.Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?
    - Well first of all becareful of what u eat. Drop carbohydrates. More vegs and protein.

    - Jogging helps but try swimming. Cause it takes more energy to its more demanding. aFter swimming try to overcome the burning hunger.

    - Take up sports. Like tae kwon do lessons.

    - DON'T STARVE YR SELF!!

    - Also when u're on a diet there's a chance u might consume more than u normally do after the dieting session. Takes a lot of self control.Does anyone know really how to lose weight for a teen, like 20 pounds in a month, tips, advice, please help.?
Don't try and lose twenty pounds in a month. It's unsafe. Stop eating sugars, butters, oils and salts. Drink alot of water and exercise as much as you can. Move it to Lose it!! Most important - Eat a balanced diet (plenty of diets on the internet) You must eat to lose weight. You have to eat at least three meals a day, preferably 4 smaller meals a day. Eat oatmeal (plain) every morning and lots of fruit and vegetables (they should be 75% of your daily food intake. Don't smoke and get your cardio at least four times a week. Have faith in yourself and be positive. Good Luck!!!
im trying to do the same thing. i started this week by walking for an hour and doing some light weights to get triceps! definitely cut out sodas and junk food snacks.
    exercise vigorously
South Beach Diet books!!!Then exercise once in a while!Believe me you will be thank full!Just remember to read that book front the back!
Go to the Internet and get the paperback book ';The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet'; by Herman Tarnower, MD and it will only take about 20 days to lose your 20 pounds. The book also tells you how to easily keep the weight off. Then it will be time to break out the miniskirts.
Weight Watchers is the easiest. Just count the points. Also eat every 3 hours, which is a natural way to supress appitite and keep your metabolism up.
ok...stop all soda and chips. that would after a month make u lose like 5 to 10 pounds cos basically u are taking in empty calories. minimize chocolate, and try to eat only dark chocolate. pretty much eat small portions. you no u are done eating when u reach the point that you could eat more, but u are not hungry. this helps because it is scientifically proven that the brain realizes u are full after 20 minutes that ur stomach is full. basically the message is sent slowly.
Running! Everyone underestimates the power of running.
Avoid fatty %26amp; oily foods at all costs. Also avoid flour. Jogging heps a lot.

    (Not walking but jogging).

Advice/articles for bleaching/coloring the tips of hair?

    I want to bleach/color the tips of my (dark brown) hair red. But when I try to google advice on bleaching just the tips, I get ';tips for bleaching your hair!';

does anyone know some articles where i could find advice for dying just the tips? or can anyone give advice?

thanks!Advice/articles for bleaching/coloring the tips of hair?
Bleaching is all the same, whether you do the whole head, only some streaks, the tips or your upper lip. Bleaching means to remove hair colour.

You apply the bleach mixture to any hair you want to have lighter. It's that simple. However, there are a few precautions you need to take to make sure you don't accidentally get bleach on hair you DON'T want to lighten! Since you are only wanting the tips (how much is the tips?), then you need some way to keep the bleach only on the tips. Be sure they are even all around!!

After the colour is lightened sufficiently (you can remove some or all of your natural colour), then apply the appropriate red. Remember that whatever colour the bleached hair is will blend with the red, so be sure it is the right degree of lightness.

When in doubt, it's much safer to have a professional do this for you. They know all the tricks to make it easier, and get just what you want.
