Any doctors or people in medical school can you give me advice on becoming a doctor like helpful tips?

Well said, megan!

The most important thing is to learn how to assimilate large amounts of information quickly, and be able to regurgitate it on a test.

Grades must be stellar, and you have to do well on the MCAT.

It won't hurt to have some experience volunteering or working in a medical setting. This can lead to letters of recommendation, which will only help you. Of course, when in these settings, be helpful, appropriately inquisitive and professional.

Good luck!Any doctors or people in medical school can you give me advice on becoming a doctor like helpful tips?
1) be very smart. a lot can be said for hard work, but you have to have at least a pretty high baseline for inteligence. we're not talking ';i got all a's in high school.'; we're talking ';i got all a's in college.'; (granted, i didn't get all a's in college, but i rocked my mcat and got mostly a's in college.)

2) be a good studier. i didn't study in college, but i had to learn pretty quick when i got to med school. being a doctor is all about learning. the learning never, ever stops, and most of it has to come from your own initiative to know more.

3) make the right connections. unfortunately, too much of getting into med school and good residencies is knowing people. if you're in college, work with doctors at med school afililated hospitals. if there are no med schools around you, do your best and get involved with people you feel are relatively well known in the medical community. it's all about politics, and i feel i learned that too late.

4) develop confidence and people skills. you have to learn how to sell yourself. know who you are. present yourself in the best light possible. if there are things you're not super proud of, work on them, change them. and learn how to explain them.

just work really hard with the gifts you've been given. be humble, because your brain isn't something you worked for, it's something you were born with. care about people (for real).
